Cloud Operations vs. Product Development
At seed and Series A, every engineering hour counts. Hiring a dedicated DevOps engineer costs $150K+ per year fully loaded. Managed services provide coverage at a fraction of the cost.
AWS Managed Services Provider
AWS Managed Services for Startups
We handle AWS operations for startups so your engineering team stays focused on product — monitoring, patching, incident response, and cost optimization for a predictable monthly fee that scales with your growth.
- An alert or agreed check arrives.
- The same roster that built the environment operates it.
- Patching covers OS and runtime on the agreed cadence.
- Capacity and backup stay inside the contracted envelope.
- Production changes wait for the agreed change window.
- The workload stays up, with a named path when it does not.
Key Challenges We Solve
AWS Cost Visibility
AWS bills can grow unpredictably as startups add services. Without ongoing cost monitoring and rightsizing, cloud costs can consume disproportionate runway.
Incident Response Without a Pager
Production incidents happen at 2am. Startups without on-call infrastructure have no coverage for off-hours outages — leading to extended downtime that costs customer trust.
SOC 2 Readiness
Enterprise sales increasingly require SOC 2 Type II certification. Building the operational evidence for SOC 2 requires continuous logging, access review, and change management that managed services can provide.
Our Approach
Startup Managed Services Tiers
Lightweight monitoring-only tier ($1,500/month) for pre-revenue startups, full managed operations tier ($3,500/month) for post-launch companies, and premium tier for Series A+ companies requiring SOC 2 evidence collection.
Monthly Cost Optimization Reviews
Monthly AWS cost review identifying rightsizing opportunities, unused resources, and commitment discount recommendations. Startups typically save 20-40% on their AWS bill through active cost management.
SOC 2 Operations Foundation
Operational procedures designed to generate SOC 2 evidence from day one — access logging, change management records, security alerts, and availability metrics that your auditor will need.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum viable managed services package for a startup?
Our minimum package includes: 24/7 CloudWatch alerting with PagerDuty integration, monthly cost review with rightsizing recommendations, security patching coordination, and weekly infrastructure health reports. This covers the core operational needs without the overhead of enterprise managed services.
How do managed services help startups achieve SOC 2?
SOC 2 requires evidence of operational controls over a 12-month period. Managed services generate this evidence automatically: access logs, change records, incident tickets, and monitoring reports. When you engage your SOC 2 auditor, we provide the evidence package. Most startups can achieve SOC 2 Type II in 12-15 months with this foundation.
Can we apply AWS Activate credits to managed services?
AWS Activate credits apply to AWS service charges (EC2, RDS, Lambda, etc.) — not to professional services fees. However, managed services reduce the engineering time your team spends on operations, freeing credit-covered AWS resources for product development. We also actively manage your AWS Activate credit consumption to maximize credit runway.
